Digital & OOH Campaign

Not Today, Mate.

Off-Road Theft Prevention Campaign.

Off-road motorcycles and quads are being targeted by thieves — stolen from driveways, misrepresented in online listings, taken during inspections that go wrong. We built a campaign that gives private buyers and sellers the practical checks to stop a bad deal before it starts, without blaming them for being targeted in the first place.

The Brief

The challenge —
and why it mattered.

Off-road bike and quad theft is rising, and most of it is preventable — but only if buyers and sellers actually know what to check before a deal happens. Crime Stoppers WA came to us wanting a proactive education campaign, not another reactive warning. One condition from the outset: no “buyer beware” or “seller beware” framing. It’s a cliché, and it puts the blame on the person being targeted rather than giving them something useful to do about it.

01

How do you speak to two completely different audiences?

Someone selling a bike and someone buying one — without running two disconnected campaigns.

02

How do you make safety advice land?

With a practical, no-nonsense audience, without it reading as a lecture.

03

How do you reach people at the exact moment it matters?

When a risky deal is being arranged, in a category with almost no dedicated advertising infrastructure of its own.

04

How do you deliver it all credibly?

Across video, social and display, without the budget for an original shoot.

— What We Delivered —

The work.

Campaign Platform

“Not Today, Mate.” master line and a fuel-gauge visual device, built to carry across every placement in the plan.

Two Hero Films

30-second buyer and seller rotations, built from one reusable template, swapping copy and checklist beats only.

Paid Social

Geo-targeted Meta campaign across Facebook and Instagram, buyer and seller flighted separately.

Digital Display

MREC and leaderboard placements on bikesales.com.au, landing at the point of decision.

Fuel-Station Network

30-second sound-off loops on point-of-sale screens, timed to the exact moment riders are standing still.

Landing Page

A single checklist hub with buyer and seller sections, as the resolve point for every placement.

The Creative Idea

Built on the clock
riders already keep.

Riders filling three or four bikes and a couple of jerry cans at the bowser are standing still for three to five minutes — almost exactly as long as it takes to run the checks that stop a bad deal. So the creative runs on the same clock as the fill-up: a fuel gauge that fills in real time as each check ticks over, built once and carried across every format in the plan, from the pump screen itself to a static banner on bikesales.com.au.
