Cleo Smith — Operation Rodia WA Police & Crime Stoppers WA
When WA Police and Crime Stoppers WA needed to reach the entire state urgently, they called us.
Four-year-old Cleo Smith had disappeared from a campsite near Carnarvon. Operation Rodia was underway. The priority was simple — get a public appeal and the State Government’s $1 million reward announcement in front of as many Western Australians as possible, as fast as possible.
We were briefed at 11am. By 3pm the television commercial was produced and CAD approved. By 4pm it had been dispatched to every WA television network. It aired the same day.
But speed of production was only half the story. Through our established media relationships, we secured in-kind support across television, digital news sites, and out-of-home media throughout Western Australia — ensuring the appeal ran at a scale that a paid campaign would never have achieved in the time available. Our media partners didn’t hesitate.
The campaign expanded the following day with coordinated digital and OOH placements state-wide.
Seven days later, Cleo Smith was found alive and well.
